Hi,
I want to say thank you for all the advices I received about Audio Interfaces.
It's very important piece of hardware in music production, I decided to stick to MOTU family.
The quality is most important for me.
Thank you Gregory, thank you Ben, thank you Eddie

I'm getting myself an UltraLite for my birthday : )

I don't think you will regret going with MOTU!

I really like my Motu 828MK2. I had the converters and analog input
stages upgraded by Black Lion Audio and it sounds excellent. Sounded
good before but now it compares highly with my Apogee duet. First
audio interface I had that was upgradable. The best thing about Motu
are the excellent drivers.

Could you tell me more about what you had done? Cost? Turn around
time? In what aspect(s) did you see the most improvement after the
upgrades? etc.

Thanks,

Jeff

Black Lion upgraded the analog stages i.e. the preamps and outputs.
They also replaced the clock. The difference was huge. I notice from
their web-site they no longer offer the same upgrade I had as they
have created an external box for re-clocking but the results should be
the same. The biggest complaint I hear about MOTU is the lack luster
sound quality. A MOTU with Black Lion gives you comparable sound to
Apogee at a much lower cost and the software and drivers from MOTU are
much better. Check out their site for info etc. http://www.blacklionaudio.com/index.html
I am not affiliated with them, just a satisfied customer. I think
they had my box for a week. I also had my Alesis AI3 adat converter
done. excellent. Sound is open, natural, no longer harsh and holds up
when mixing lots of tracks. 2 years of heavy use and no problems.

Thanks again for the info. on those upgrades. I scheduled an
appointment with them, and I ordered the Microclock as well. Can't
wait to hear the difference.
