Pitch Problems

Pitch Problems

2009-03-03 by Gregory Anderson

Hey, I had a weird thing show up today. My EXS24 instrument are going
out of tune. I have checked the list view and taken everything but
the notes, and it affects different instruments or goes out of tune
at different times. I recorded one sample where the mandolin goes
sharp about 1/3 of the way through.

Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? And don't say it's
the EXS problem that comes with cracked version. It's not a crack.

Thanks

Gregory

i had some soundfont patches (a few out of dozens) that I used on the EXS24
sounded out of tune - never found why that was.

That makes sense.

Logic Pro 8 (most recent update)
Mac Pro 2 x 2gH
OS 10.4.11
RAM: 3gB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

I have plenty of plugins, but in this particular song I have only
instantiated the EXS24 so far. I've got about 10 EXS instruments
loaded, with 4 of them playing, and the two instruments I am having
problems with right now are Apple Jam Pack instruments (Fingerstyle
Bass and Terkelson Mandolin). I also have two audio tracks
containing Apple Loops.

Pretty simple setup overall. It kind of sounds like slow pitch bend,
but I know there's no pitch bend CC's in the midi regions. What I
don't understand very well is the EXS24 interface itself. I never
mess with all those parameters. I did try turning OFF whatever that
on/off button is for (filters?), and that didn't make any difference.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Gregory

Timing too - Re: Pitch Problems

2009-03-03 by Man Parrish

I've actually had some weird timing problems with plug ins with this update. Hmmm...??
Stuff that relies on host clock sync, like drum and seq plug ins...
Stuff sometimes isn't as "tight" as it was in the past.
Had to shift tracks to sync them or print to disk and manually allign..

Anyone notice this?
