How do I mixdown? Also, problem with tracks not showing in mixer

How do I mixdown? Also, problem with tracks not showing in mixer

Hello all-
I am new at computer recording, but have had a bit of success. I am very happy with the sound quality (makes my mediocre playing stand out though!).

I have been getting system overload messages, and assume I may be pushing my computer too hard- it's a 933 mHz Quicksilver. I just save a lot and restart Logic often. I will work on getting something closer to 2gHz power.

One more problem I have-- In the "arrange" window, I have 12 tracks, but only ten are showing in the track mixer. Some have been somehow paired, meaning I will press record on one and the other shows the record button lit up, and the same when I press it again. One of those tracks does not show in the track mixer. Any ideas? I am sure it's something I've done, but can't find any answers so far. WHen I created a new track in the arrange window, it didn't show up in the track mixer.

Having recorded 12 tracks, I am on to mixing. I have a Logic Express 7 book from Amazon coming, which should help, but am wondering if anyone has any tips there, or a general overview of the mastering process.

Thanks in advance! I'm having a lot of fun, just running into some roadblocks.

-Brian

Can't answer everytging but.

Across the top of the Mixer window is an option to show/hide various
track/mixer strip types. Basically they are toggle buttons. On the right
end there is an ALL button..

Try pressing that and see if the missing tracks etc show up. You can then
toggle off any mixer strips "types" that you do not wish to see.
