SPL Madness in MIDI Recording
2005-02-08 by msirt@earthlink.net
Sorry if this is a repost (earlier posting attempt did not seem to show up) Can anyone tell me why the SPL resets to the head of a region and all notes are 'selected' if the region end point is reached before a 'stop' command is instituted at the end of a recording pass (causing the matrix window to 'jump back' to its beginning)? It's darned inconvenient, being that most editing and additional recording occurs at the end of the region, not at its beginning. One has to continuallyde-select the notes and scroll forward after each take. I realizethe end point locator could pushed right to allow the stop command to come first, thus avoiding this behavior, but I eventually catch up with the EPL when adding material and the whole bit starts again. Isn't there a way to make the window 'stay put' as a default? And, while on the subject of the SPL, can anyone tell me if there isa key shortcut for automatically resetting the SPL to the the prior recordingstartpoint. That would be a major labor saver for me. Thanks, Michael
