Re: [MarcosManiacs] Re: Marcos Glass!!!

2002-06-18 by Lee Brinkley

Hi all,

I have been following the marcos glass e-mails and would also be
interested in a glass rear screen for my 1967 1600. I also do not know
if any of the early cars ever had glass screens fitted as a vent was
originally cut into the top to aid ventilation. If people with the older
cars fitted with glass rears could post messages to the maniacs site
giving vehicle model and date information it may help us all to
understand which of us could benefit from this upgrade.
Pilkingtons web site gives the address below for automotive glass
replacement. They also operate out of america and canada so the
opportunity may be there if the screens are made up for them to
transport the screens directly to these countries with one of their
ordinary glass shipments as I am sure they must also support replacement
glass for many other classic British and European cars that are far more
prolific than the marcos.
I am willing to give them a call to find out more if that is ok with
everyone, but I think we should be sure of which cars they fit first,
and also weather they fitted several models with slightly different
designs which would complicate things especially as our best hope of
getting a quicker service and cheaper screens is if we can order as
large a volume as possible.
