Maarten . . .
You are correct. Dave McCubbin was restoring a Luton Gullwing. The last time a I saw him (last summer), the wooden frame was largely rebuilt, and the various body panels and other components were sitting in his garage at his home in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. As far as I know, everything is still there.

Subject: [MarcosManiacs] Gullwings and Fastbacks

Dear All,

As a Marcos enthusiast (for the last six years), I have been researching the
history of the early Marcosses, and the Marcos Fastbacks in particular, for
the last 2 years or so. I was wondering whether any of you, knows whether
there still are some early Marcosses (pre-1800) around. I was told the John
Sutton Gullwing once resided in the States and I understood the late Dave
McCubbin was restoring a Luton Gullwing. Can anybody confirm where both cars
are? A few cars went to Japan, at least one is thought to be in Australia
and France and Italy could holdl a couple more. Is there anybody who knows
where they have gone? Should you have any further information regarding any
Gullwing or Fastback (no matter where they ended up), I would love to hear
from you. Also material from the 1960's, pictures, stories, names and
addresses are all welcome, maybe we can in the end fit all the pieces of the
puzzle together in the end.

By the way, the programme of the 6th Marcos Euregio Meeting is about to be
finalised, and I will send an invitation to the group soon.

Kindest regards

Maarten Krikken
