Hi Hal,
The baffle plate was laid across the top of
the sump well with a hole for the oil pump and another small one for the dip
stick. Oil flows in through a gap at the rear. The baffle prevents the oil from
being slung to the side or front under hard cornering or braking. I got the
details from one of the Swedish members of the Marcos Owners Club. He's done a
lot of racing in his time using a bored out Volvo B30 engine, the same as the
one I have.
