You might want to look into this company.

They adapt Kehein <sp?> racing carbs to automotive use, making their own manifolds.
Cost is on par with or cheaper than Webers, and LOT cheaper than adding digital injection.

I suspect your Volvo six would not be that different than the Triumph GT-6 conversion 
they already do.
As a bonus, the Kehein conversion is lighter and more compact than Webers.

I may end up with a set of these on the Alfa 2.0 I intend to put in my own car.
