That sounds like an ambitious project to say the least. What is
your friend using for "clear paint". Epoxys are very water resistant,
Not too sure about UV protection. Clear coats probably are pretty
good on the UV side but I don't know about there water resistant
properties over wood. Maybe clear coat over epoxy. Are you going to
use Recorcinol to Glue the panels together?
