Re: [MarcosManiacs] Re: Looking to buy a Marcos in North America ?

Dave,
The convertible Marcos that ended last week WAS NOT the one Hayes has for sale. This is ANOTHER one! Hayes's is yellow and your description applies to his and I have personally seen it several times. The one that recently ended on eBay looks to be dark (BRG) green with a tan or beige interior. Pull up the item on eBay (#260363180252) and check out the car before stating that is the one you were thinking Hayes has. That's why I supplied the item number.
There are several more Marcos cars hiding in the woodwork of south/central Florida than meets the eye. I was not that suprised to hear of ANOTHER convertible down here. I have heard stories of the green convertible in Miami for the past several years, as well as at least two more coupes on the gulf coast of Florida, not including Larry's and Ron's two cars.

the conversion and it is not pretty! It also appears that the body
panel fit is poor. The car has been covered or stored inside Hayes'
shop but needs a lot of work to make right. He does have the top
and glass to make it a coupe. He does sell many quality British
cars, mostly race cars of which he is a great source. His cars are
usually fairly priced and usually not negotiable. Take a look at
www.wirewheel.com for a look at his stock.

bid of $10,500 and there were no bids. I asked the seller a question
while bidding was on, but never received a reply, so I wonder how
serious the seller was.

car - very well done! It might not be an absolutely perfect car, but
it is very worthy of putting in a show.
