Mine also has an electric fan and no engine-attached fan. Unfortunately though, whoever wired it, has it come on as soon as you turn the key to the first position, not controlled by a thermostat as you would think. No overheating problems so far, but it hasn't been all that hot here since I got the car either. I'll check tonight to see if I can make out the manufacture and all that.
