Re: Tires

2001-08-15 by Don Lattimer

Ron,
According to the chart I referenced in "message 23", your tire has a
section width of 7.2", a diameter of 24.57", and a tread width of
5.1". The original 175SR13s' had a section width of 7.0", a diameter
of 23.94", and a tread width of 5.0". So your tire is wider, taller,
and has a little more tread width.

I just ordered some "H" rated 195/70R13s' that have a section width
of 7.9", a diameter of 24.10", and a tread width of 6.1". So they
are taller than the original, wider by almost an inch and the tread
is an inch wider. Don't have them yet but will let the list know how
they fit.

When I bought my car in June, it had 205/70HR13s' on the rear and
175SR13s' on the front. With that difference the car is level but I
bottom out relatively easily (not fun).

I will take your advice on the tubes. My Jensen-Healey had "leakey"
wheels also. www.rogerkrausracing.com site also has tube fitment
charts.

Your car looks great! Hope to see it in the "flesh" some day.
