1970/71 Marcos Mantis 2+2

1970/71 Marcos Mantis 2+2

2002-08-03 by carol_from_uk

Hi

I found this group earlier tonight when looking for links or info on
Marcos cars for my father.

My father, who lives in Canada, is thinking about selling his 1970/71
Red Marcos Mantis (right hand drive) but has no idea what it might be
worth? I believe it is a rare model with only about 30 made. It has a
Triumph engine. He bought it new in 1970 when we lived in the UK and
shipped it over to Canada, when the family emigrated there in 1975.
It has been well looked after and maintained over the years and is
still in very good condition and still used from time to time (summer
only) on the roads in and around Calgary.

It's the same model as in the pics posted by Ron McLeod.

Any advice or suggestions on the price he should he be asking would
be appreciated.

TIA
Carol

Carol,

Glad you found us! Ron Mcleod is the info man on the Mantis. He
has owned his for close to 30 years I believe. He may be on
vacation at the moment or I'm sure he would have contacted you.

We are always searching for Marcos here in the US and Canada and
finding a Mantis is an added bonus.

If I had some time I might drive up to Calgary from here in northern
California and take a look but I'm busy at the moment.

Hopefully Ron will reply soon.

Another good resource is Mark Saxby in England.

Good luck,
