Re: [MarcosManiacs] Marriage/DeDion rear end
2003-07-03 by Don Lattimer
Hal,
Yours is most likely a solid axle car. Only some of
the Volvo 1800 cars came with the DeDion. If it was converted, it would be
nice to know how it was done. If the axle is solid all the way across,
it's not a DeDion. The DeDion rear end allows for each wheel to be
independent of the other.
Congratulations on your wedding !! She must be
tiny! Have you managed to get her out yet??
I had a young lady inform me recently that my car was the
perfect "screener" for my dates............"no fit----no ride" !!

Also, any ideas on a place to repair or buy a new gas tank? Mine is currently turning into swiss cheese. When I bought my Marcos the prior owner said it had a DeDion rear end. As I have never had it up on a lift, what would be my indicators as to which rear end I have.
This past weekend, I proved that you can stuff your bride and her gown into the cockpit of a 1600 GT Marcos... yes, it can be done.
