Marcos Gullwing on Ebay!! Item number 4559950488

Very few of these remarkably quick little Marcos Gullwings have survived.
Most were engaged in motorsports competition in the early 1960s. Jackie
Stewart and Jackie Oliver drove similar cars early in their racing careers.

This particular car for sale is a "Luton" Gullwing, with the later,
all-fiberglass doors and one-piece windscreen.

There are very, very few of these cars left (not many were built to begin
with). Having raced chassis #2006 for some years, I found my Luton Gullwing
intuitively easy to drive quickly. They have a stable, long-ish wheelbase
and the Ford pre-crossflow motor sits low and to the rear in the chassis.

Judging from the photos, this chassis looks in need of significant attention
but it is a real Marcos Gullwing and would be a welcome and competitive
addition to historic racing circles once restored.

Best Regards,
Andy Seward

Hi Hal,

I see your point. This surely must be one of the last few Gullwings built,
as a few customers apparently ordered them even as the new-for-1963 Fastback
model was being rolled out.

I guess I would still consider it a "Luton Gullwing", but it might be more
correctly referred to as a Final Body Style or "Late" Gullwing.

I just hope someone will restore it properly.

Best Regards,
Andy

Andy,
If I can find a way to get it to the U.S. I will bid on it. I would
restore it to vitage race. I may have to call in a huge favor from someone in
England. Know anyone? Gary is shipping a container this Oct. I am trying to
figure this out before the auction is over.
Hal
