Overdrive Laycock LH-type

Overdrive Laycock LH-type

2007-03-25 by twanaldenzee

Hallo Marcos friends,

Does anyone have a manual of any kind of information of the overdrive:
Laycock L.H. type

I don't know for sure if the earlier ownwer has made changes yes or no.
I am struggling with the connection. Do I have to work with a relais
or an extra switch on the gearbox as a protection?

Looking forward to your information.

Best greetings from the Netherlands,

Twan

Twan,
Could you send me a diagram and locations of the wiring as you see it I have just installed a Laycock 'J' in my car, and use an engage switch on the shift lever (Volvo) and a relay to reduce the length of the supply (12v) wire. Haven't driven it tey, but works well static.
Regards,

Twan,

I have a relay and switch on mine. The switch is mounted on the
gearbox and is engaged by the shift lever when the car is put in
reverse. You will BREAK the overdrive if you operate it in
reverse!! There is a schematic on Saxby's site:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mark.saxby/marcos/

Click on "technical", then click on "1981 build manual" there is a
page on there for "Ford V6 with overdrive".

Don't forget the reverse lamps need to be activated also.

Let me know if you need more help.
