Battery For 1969 2ltrV4

Battery For 1969 2ltrV4

2008-04-27 by smiglit

Hello,

I have been restoring MBG55H for what feels like the whole of my life
and have now reached the point where I need to purchase a replacement
battery.
Can anyone advise to where I could purchase the correct battery for a
1969 2LTR V4?
I live in the UK
Having looked around, local retailers have never heard of a Marcos so
they don't know the correct model of battery required.
I have taken the measurements of the original Battery tray on MBG55H
and all modern batteries that I have seen are too large to fit.

Thanks, Mick.

I use an Interstate I-45:

Hiya Smiglit, if you're in the uk try these people
the phone number is in the add just ring them.
you will probably need around 55amp hr, thats what was fitted to capri v6 so should be big enough for you, but first check size of battery & if it will fit, price of lead has gone throught the roof so batteries are not cheap anymore, if you go to Halfords expect to pay £80+ these deliver next day and are much cheaper

Thanks,

I reduced the toe in today, without measuring it. But; the car was much better to drive immediately.

I’ll make up some measuring planks, and do a better adjustment later on.

Thanks again ;-)

Bjorn,

I took the car to have it aligned yesterday, and had a print out of the numbers.

Mytoe is .20 Degrees each wheel (.40 total) (.28 to .55 is the total tol.).

The caster is 4.7 left wheel nd 5.4 right wheelon my car.

My camber is out of spec. I hve to either get new springs or add more shim under the origional springs. 1.8d to 3.8d is the tol.
The tollerance specsare the sameas the Triumph GT6. All are positive numbers.

Larry

Thanks,

As I said earlier; I did adjust the toe in a bit, ‘by feeling’, and got a much better driving experience.

Tomorrow (Sunday) is the annual Norwegian Sports Car Club Spring Gathering, I have app 35 km drive to where it is being arranged. This will be my longest drive with the car after my manually adjustment…

I’ll take your figures to an alignment garage later on, and hopefully get a correct setup for “quick street driving”
