Hi All,

Has anyone had success dying both the exterior and interior fabric on
the webasto classic sunroof? If so, what material was used to color
as well as waterproof the exterior. I have a charchol top and I want
to color it black. My interior fabric is whit but also want to color
black.

If you have insite, please contact me at dmensh@...

Regards,

Dave

For what it's worth, There is not any real colorant that will stand up to the weather because of the hard edges of the metal frame work and center bow causing hard edges that when the car is moving, will cause wind resistance that will wear the coloant from the vinyl surface.
I heve the pattern for this sunroof and would be glad to sew one up for you for $40.00 plus cheapest postage, if you have the skill to install it. I can assist you with instructions thru the e-mail.
As for the fabric, I haven't found any upholstery dye that can take the wear of a person setting on and climing in and out of the car that without showimg signs of wear after a very short period of time. (This includes 50 years of upholstery experiance).

Larry
