2002-04-04 by Jeff Caraway

Hi Maarten,
Welcome to our group!
I do not know a lot about the Mini Marcos other than what I have read,
but look forward to hearing more about those cool little cars.
We have lots of international members, so please keep us informed on
your meeting.
If you will send me details (when you get them firmed up), I'll be happy
to list your meeting in our events section on our web-site.

Best Regards,
Jeff Caraway

Dear All,

this is just a short e-mail to present myself as a new member of the
Marcos
Maniacs. I own a 1967 Mini Marcos and once a year I organise the Marcos
Euregio Meeting in Holland and Belgium. Without doubt, you will hear
about
the next meeting (it's the 5th time) in the coming weeks and months. I
will
try to fix the date asap and let you know.

I hope to learn a lot from you as I am not specifically technical. Hope
to
see you in the future.

Kindest regards

Maarten Krikken
Belgium

Dear Hal,

If Don isn't I might be interested in a Ginetta!

I would still prefer a Marcos GT but it comes down to affordability like with everything else.

Best regards,

Robert [aka: Svelte Bat]

Yes I was but the $$ kind of put me off. I was looking at the G-4 www.goginetta.com with the ford Zetec engine made in UK but sold in the USA in Georgia. The G-20 is sold by Moto America www.motoamericainc.com Both nice cars but basically racers, no windows, spartan interior, and harsh ride. www.pistonheads.com has a good review of the G-4.
It is a beautiful car though! Maybe some day....................

Hi Philip,

I thought Ron would have responded himself by now. He spends his winters in
Florida, where he has a Marcos 3 litre Volvo undergoing a complete engine
rebuild. He's hoping to get the car back on the road in the near future. In
the summer he lives in Oakville, Ontario, and drives a Marcos Mantis. We
regularly attend local car shows together in the summer and last year we had
3 Marcos 3 litre Volvos on display at the Uxbridge Highland games before Ron
took his down to Florida. Paul Stevens owns the other one but it seems like
he's spent more time in India these past few years than in Canada. We really
raised a lot of eyebrows when we pulled in one behind the other. Most people
had never seen a Marcos before, never mind three together.

In any event, Ron's Canadian address is:

Ron McLeod,

251 Surrey Drive,

Oakville,

Ontario L6L 3T6
CANADA

and his email address is ronald.mcleod@...

Hi I am a 'new' maniac!,

phil Smethurst from the Uk - though
residing in Australia currently - . I have owned a mini marcos which i have
rebuilt into a racer with the intention to do some sprinting/hillclimbing.
The car is sat in the garage in the Uk awaiting my return in July to fit the
glass and tidy it up so it can attend the marcos 50th celebrations at
Prescott.

I first got strated on marcos at the
tender age of 7! when I saw my uncle Alans newly purchased marcos 1800gt - A
car he still owns to this day 27 years later!. I'll have to try and get some
pictures on-line of both cars at some point.

I also wish to get in contact with Ron Mcleod - can anybody provide an
address for him? or advise the best way to contact him.

Thanks and happy marcosing!

phil.

No problem, I have an alarm system, and I think you only gave my Oakville
address, so they'll be sadly disappointed for the next 4 months or so.

You should form a fan club. Maybe I should have been more discrete about
posting your address in case your popularity mushrooms. Next we'll be
hearing about paparazzi climbing over your backyard fence!!!
