Re: Chick Corea...

I used to run sound in a small club in Iowa.  The
venue catered to blues, jazz, and 'under ground/alt'
rock.  Chick Corea's Electrik band made their way
through and I was fortunate enough to have the night
off of work (so I could enjoy the show).

With such a small club, the backstage accomodations
consisted of a staging area for theatrical events -
pretty humbling, really.  Taking advantage of my
status as an employee, I spent about 40 minutes
talking to each member of the band.  Each of them were
very friendly, answering our (...my roommates came
along, too...) questions - none too trivial for
response.

Apparently, on that tour, Chick included a Yamaha Baby
Grand as part of his rider.  ...no can do for that
venue - but the performance was outstanding,
regardless.  In that same week, I saw Yes (Union tour)
and Rush.

All that musical fascility and talent in the course of
a week - but no Mellotrons!
