Mellotronists

I was thinking about the psychological implications of a group of 
people obssessed with an antique musical instrument which plays tape 
recordings of other musical instruments and what the name of this 
obsession could be called...I remember when I contracted it hearing 
the first Crimson album (Epitaph)..."what the hell IS that sound??"
 Geeez...I sold my tron a few years back and still seem to have the 
fever.
