Hello Brady and everyone,

Sorry to inform, but nothing remains of Mellotron Digital or even
analog for that matter. Dave Kean purchased the bulk of materials
in 1989 from FL along with misc.bits from the UK.

Jim McNeeley was assoc. with the 4-Track and also with M.D.
in FL. I've corresponded with him on occasion, but his answers
are guarded. ....'Nuff said.

Last year, some orig. Mellotron bits were sold on eBay which
apparently came from FL . I shudder in horror to think of a rare
MK-V parted-out in tiny pieces.Another fellow named Dan Kerstner
in Clearwater FL, wrote the following to me last Sept :

Jerry, I was in the Rubin Industrial Park where Mellotron died.
I was brought in by Les Rubin to sell off the remaining stock that they
had
in order to pay their rent. (I owned a video production company in that
park
in unit 803.) Since I was an engineer they asked me what this stuff
was worth, I believe this was '93.

I was given a 4 track Mellotron I think it's serial # 3 or 4 for my
efforts.
We threw away the MK-V frame, and used the parts to help the 4 track.

What I saw at the end of Mellotron can only be described as incredible.
It's a shame they ran out of money. They had a piano that they were
working on that was incredible. It was based on a KX-88 keyboard and
some
Yamaha DX-7 and other stuff of the day. They literally took the best
of
Yamaha, Korg & Roland and had something that at that time would have killed

every body. But it was too late. I put price tags on it all and
junk collectors
and other electronics tech-heads took the rest away.

What a shame. I sold the sample tapes to a Mellotron users group a long
time ago. (I think in Washington.) Anyway I still have the 4-track
and 7 years
ago I had it working. It is the best conversation piece
in our studios. (We are a Hi definition Video Studio. Electric Image.)

That's all I have on Mellotron Digital, everyone. Feel free to add to
this,
if any of you have more info . Scrapping a MK-V ??!
