That was the big complaint of the tune over at progressiveears. Maybe Bruford, Collins, Pert, etc., or the drummer for Random Hold, Ui or Cairo could sit in with them during the next session. Bands that are inspired by Genesis are one thing, but to imitate them is futile. Perhaps a dangerous statement to make when bands like The Musical Box and the Australian Pink Floyd are touring and leaving people awestruck left and right. But they have *real* drummers! Nonetheless, I want the CD from Sylvan & Bonamici when it comes out...yet I'm afraid I'll rake it over with a fine-toothed comb and pick it apart rather than just sit back and enjoy it. Even though Genesis is one of my top ten fave bands of all time, I could never ever say that I enjoyed each album right off the bat upon the first listen. Thirty years ago, when I first heard The Lamb I just didn't "get it". It went over my head, overwhelmed me, I pegged it as inconsistant and longwinded or whatever--but we all know now it's a classic. np: some band out of Philadelphia called "E-X-O" (not bad!!)
