Hi Bernie,
 
With the blended M300 sounds it is a gradual fading out of the lower  
instrument and the fading in of the higher one to make the transition  smooth.  There 
are areas on the keyboard where both instruments are being  crossfaded as 
opposed to 2 Tenors and 2 Altos where everything is firing in  unison.
