Hi Ken, I've seen SMS boards attached to the cabinet base too. If you are referring to the large piece of sheet aluminium that seems to come up and over the motor on the rear shot of one of the "before" pics, that I think was to shield the motor from the black fabric they used instead of a rear panel. However; the motor panel was a bit floppy and so the only mod I made was to drill a hole in the bottom of the panel and put a bolt and lock-nut & washer through it so the head presses against the side panel block. You can then adjust it so the panel is nice and vertical.
