Speaking of Mellotron piano, is that what the watery,
warbly piano at the end of "Watching and Waiting" on "To Our Children's
Children's Children" is?

Yeah---Hammond, throughout. The 'tron butchers that sound just like
everything else, making it somehow oddly appealing, if heavy and morose,
like the 'tron piano. Also Vibes are in there, I'm sure (buried in there
toward the end).
It's getting rotation in Winamp today on my PC. :-)
Actually...hold on...on the htm page they listed the Pinder CD sounds used:
combined brass, three violins, string section, flute, Hammond organ,
vibraphone, 8 voice choir
There ya go!
