2) sit down, thompson, this one's for everyone else. I just bought a cd by a
band based in tel-aviv (apparently), with 'tron all over it. they call
themselves "rockfour" (cheesy, huh?) and sound sort of beatley/byrdsy but
with 'tron all over it. the 'tronists are baruch ben-izhak and noam rapaport.
anyone ever heard of them? (not you, thompson!) the cd's great...

Rockfour used a Black and Gold MKII belonging to a guy in Tel Aviv. It was originally owned by Pink Floyd and was then restored by your's truly and had bespoke tapes fitted. The band have a very retro feel but we think the album is pretty good apart from a few tuning difficulties here a d there(but not the Mellotron this time!)

the album I got is called "another beginning" and is on rainbow quartz. they
have a new york office (suite 32N, 30 w63rd) aswell as their english office
in rochester, kent. there's also a website (www.rainbowquartz.com) and they
are e-mailable as "rainbowqtz@...".
I heard it in a shop in bishop auckland, co.durham (where my sister lives-
co.durham, not the shop....) while browsing and filling in the gaps in my
collection where there should have been "obscured by clouds", "sheer heart
attack" and some blue oyster cult, renaissance, jade warrior..... it was that
kind of afternoon. it made a nice change to be in a record shop where you
could freely address the proprietor and have him part with the only copy of
his own afternoon's entertainment, to wit, the aforementioned israeli prog. I
notice now that they have their own website, www.rockfour.com
the bass player is pictured with what apears to be a 4003 but it doesn't look
right somehow. I'm staring at mine and I can't figure it out...... I'm sure
it's a knock-off. anyone know?
right. back to chopping out cd-r's and banging on giant herb trumpets (well,
it is the weekend....)

The one we were talking about is called "Supermarket" and dates from two
years ago. When did "Another Begining" come out?

Thanks,
