Princess Madge

Princess Madge

2002-02-10 by Colin G Crawford

Dear All,

I wholeheartedly agree that the self-promotion should stop,

(Check out the new SundaeClub Chill track on
http://www.s-club.co.uk)

the warring factions amongst us should unite, and what better time to do
this than a time of Grief? I firmly believe that we Brits should appreciate
the uniqueness of the wonderful Anglo-American instrument we all love so
dearly, take a leaf out of the Americans' book, and show a bit of National
Pride.

My proposal is therefore, that everyone on the List should be invited to
contribute to a special commemorative Concept Album (along the lines of
"Rime") in memory of our late Royal 'Tron owner, even though she was never
really an active member of our Group. I would like to believe that she was a
regular correspondent to the list, but her emails were intercepted by the
Right Royal Microsoft Firewall.

I respectfully suggest the title:

"The Sixty Husbands of Princess Madge"

Maybe the layout could be similar to the Wakeman record of similar name, and
is doubly appropriate, since our Beloved Madge was the first major Royal to
be granted a divorce since Henry binned Catherine of Aragon.

The proposed album could be in two sections:

Commoners: To include Peter Townsend (Not that one, but you never know....),
Billy Wallace, Bob Douglas-Home, Peter Sellers, etc..... etc.....

Eligibles: Featuring Tony Armstrong-Jones, Hon. Dominic Elliot of Minto
and..... er...... That's It.

I have already suggested that SundaeClub do a track. They bagsied "Roddy
Llewellyn", and have come up with the bones of a catchy little number
featuring the drunken Moog solo from Wakeman's "Breathaliser", blended with
samples from the theme to the "Horse of the Year" show, the signature tune
from "Ground Force" and the tag-line from an old Player's No. 6 advert.

Perhaps we could entice 'Tinge to pose in a Long Golden Cloak surrounded by
loads of ancient keyboards in a masturbatory pre-MIDI fashion for the
inside of the Gatefold Sleeve.

Just a suggestion.

Cheers f'now!!
