Re: Dub Side O' The Moon

At first I thought this CD was a novelty stab at DSOTM, which was released on the 30th anniversary of the Pink Floyd classic last spring, but I really like it--and it features a bevvy of big names in reggae, and is quite an ambitious serious effort. (Now, if it was by Weird Al Yankovic, Spike Jones, or a another cover album in its entirety by Laibach...) I've been hearing about a Greenlandic band on the ULO record label that did a couple LP's in the mid 1980's that are quite Floydian in their comparative reviews. I also saw a CD a few years ago by a Yiddish band that did another complete take on DSOTM...all in klezmer! The cover was a Star Of David instead of the prism--breaking the beam of white light into rays of the rainbow spectrum...I had a good laugh at the cover even tho' the music was too crazy IMHO to listen to more than once. I recently came across a bluegras tribute to Metallica "Return To Bluegrass"...as if Apocalyptica wasn't heavy enuf...um, was that Roy Wood on cello?
