Jethro Tull

2003-10-28 by JMoore6397@aol.com

Fellow mellotronisdt,
Over the weekend I heard a Jethro Tull song I think it was "Bungle in the Jungle". I thought I heards MK II strings in the mix. My question is what was Ian Anderson's use of a mellotron when recording with Jethro Tull?
                                              Thanks,
                                            Jimmy Moore

Hello Jimbo:
I only know of two songs that Jethro Tull used the Mellotron on-- "Cross Eyed-Mary" and "Fat Man". Both used the 3 Violins sound.

The single "Witches Promise" (lovely tune) hasa fair amount of M400 3 violins; it is featured in an instrumental "break"in the song. Where is the Tron on "Fat Man"?

Can only hear regular orchestral strings on 'Bungle'. 'Fat Man'? Sounds
all-acoustic to my ears.
