SV: [Mellotronists] New MkVII

SV: [Mellotronists] New MkVII

2004-02-24 by Markus Resch

Hi!

I've been out of town for the last few days, therefore the delayed answer.

I am glad to get some positive reaction on the Mahagony units. It has been
very inspiring designing these together with my cabinet maker. Pls note that
they are of massive mahagony - the only way to go for an uncompromising
finish.

After having made so many MkVI's I thought it was time for a dual manual
unit.

The MKVII has the following controls from right to left:
On/off
Volume RH
Tone RH
Hi/lo speed
Pitch
Volume LH
Tone LH
"Mono/stereo" switch
Headphone Vol
Headphone outlet

The lid is hinged as on a MkVI and the two wooden blocks with the track
selector knobs stay in place when the lid is opened.

The amp has two balanced tube outputs and two jacks for volume pedals. The
mono/stereo switch could be called "split" since it mixes together the two
keyboards into one output (controlled by one volume pedal).

We're stepping up production to meet the increasing demand - a number of
customers have bought their second MkVI, the band The Cardigans amongst
others.

That's all from the factory for now

Markus

Markus:
"Massive" - Good choice of words. Beautiful cabinet.

One pitch control...Is it one capstan / motor ?
