Hello Clay and Gang, I went to that site and was only able to
hear "metronome clicks" and something like tin cans being tapped
together. Perhaps my aging computer (Pentium-I , 133 MHz)
cannot decipher the MIDI files. They played thru Quick Time audio.

Any suggestions out-there ?? Besides buying a new computer?

Cheers, JK

Jerry:
In order to open these MIDI files (*.mid) and view the "staff"
and "piano roll" you need a MIDI Sequencer program like Cakewalk
Express.

http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/Express/default.asp
It's $29 and will run on a 120MHz Pentium.

If you just want to listen to *.mid files, something like QuickTime
should work, but it will probably sound like SHIT using general midi
samples from a basic sound card. (Makes everything sound like a
Nintendo game).

MIDI files will sound just as shitty with Cakewalk Express. You can
get good quality audio from MIDI, but you need to spend a fortune on
samples and a software sampler.

For $29 you can have music notation for each instument for just about
any song you can think of.... but playback sound quality will not be
too good.
