Name that tune (w/mp3 link)

Here's the direct link. Help hangdog out & help me out too so I can
buy more from the band. For all I know, I probably have it already
anyway.

I certainly don't intend to sound like I'm beating the hell out of this
hard-working group, but while the cut is a noble effort it certainly isn't
Yes or anybody I've heard before. The performance is ambitious, but
plodding and ham-handed, lacking deftness and finesse. It really sounds like
the band has just finished writing the song and is still trying to clumsily
make their way through the arrangement together. They obviously have
listened to a lot of Yes, but judging by the amount of synth in it (which
sounds awfully ARP-Odyssey-ish to my ears) dates it at least post-Fragile
era, and apart from Starcastle (which still had too much Styx flavor for me)
I can't think of anything that was that overtly "Yessy" at the time. The
vocals and the blockiness of the writing makes me think of Flash, but they
played a lot better and never got that keyboardy. The recording space
sounds really small, too, sounding almost like a good basement tape more
than an engineered and large, dedicated-recording-space effort to me.

I can't hear ANY Yes in there, but plenty of Who! It's pretty much a rip
of "Won't Get Fooled Again" with CS&N doing the vocals.

I calls 'em like I hears 'em. That's not to say I don't hear other
influences in it as well.

Most *certainly* isn't Yes. Sounds like a US band to me - plenty of American
prog bands were influenced by Anderson, Howe & Co (the well-known firm of
solicitors), although I don't think it's one I've heard.

All I can say is "I like it!" Yes, I can hear the elements of
several other artists/bands there but it works for me. 'Trongirl, if
you find out who it is, let me know....
