Mellotronists

OK So I caught the tail end of Leno and Shakira was on.  Her keyboardist had 
what looked like a white M400 and then a more modern keyboard on top, like a 
Roland.  Anyone else see this?

I'll be watching on the West Coast.  If I can take my lustful eyes off
Shakira <pant pant> I'll check for the M400.

Yes.  Definitely an M400.  While most of the camera angles were tight on
Shakira's face (or her guitarists), there's a 7 second sweep shot from stage
right looking across the keyboards, and it's unmistakably an M400.

She wasn't wearing her sex pants, so it was possible to watch the
keys.  :-)

I'm confused by this.  It sure looked like an M400, it had the rear
panel and the rear slots, but it looked a lot wider than an M400 -- it
was the same width as the black plastic digital keyboard on top.  And
the angles on the top looked very strange.  And I didn't see any
cables out the back.

Could it possibly have been a stand for the black plastic digital
keyboard on top that just happens to look an awful lot like an M400?

The size was off putting.  But the one shot across the keys sure looked like
an M400 keyboard complete with twiddly knobs.  It did seem like a much
bigger case, and I don't think the guy actually played it at all.  I should
have stuck a videotape in...

I've never seen nor heard of her before.  <drool>  (But, I live in a 
cave where the only music allowed is almost anything that's not in 4/4.:)

I saw this and thought for sure it was a M400.  Right down to the single 
audio cable coming out the lower middle part of the back.  But now that 
you mention it, it did seem kind of wide.  Maybe it was just a 
wide-angle lens.  ;-)

I even thought i heard some tronny strings during the harmonica.
