Anybody know if changing tracks on an M400 while pressing a key can
damage the tape?

Hi Bernie and gang, If heads are clean/polished i.e: less sliding
friction, you should be fine. Try it first on a knackered tape set,
check before and after for any miniscule changes to edges of tape.

This can be used as an interesting technique to blend sounds on the fly. I
used to like to blend chords from St. John's Wood Organ to 3-violins with my
M400 (#1001) by moving the selector while holding down the keys. Kind of like
the effect heard near the end of the Moodies' "Procession".

You can't do this on a MK II, but it works on the M400.

I can't do it at all now, because my trons are in storage at the moment ;-(.
