Thanks, and a couple of things

Thanks, and a couple of things

2006-04-20 by J.P.

Hi Guys and Gals:
Mike - Thanks for the info concerning the Crimson manuscripts. I based my guess that Fripp wrote at least a few of them, on comparing his name on the top of the manuscripts, with his signature on the "Exposure" album. You would know better then I, so thanks for the correction. Do you know who transcribed them? As for the accuracy of the sheet music, I figured that out on my knowledge of some of the songs - but on the ones I'm not sure of, it might get me in the ball park. BTW: I haven't had any luck on the plug-in either, but I'm gong to keep on trying, and if I come up with a solution, I'll post it here.
Concerning the ITCOTCK MK 2, I heard the going price was around $25,000.00 - a bit high in my book too, especially if it needed work. I wonder: is there a way to restore an "important" 'Tron, while retaining it's status, and value?
Finally: "William Shatner... and the Mellotronic Philharmonic Orchestra"... perform the greatest "Prog Classics" of all time... available on K-Tel Records! What those "Prog Classics" are, I'll leave up to the group... just thinking of it makes my brain woozy!!!
Stick a fork in me - I'm done.

How can... the wind... with
Its arms.... all around

What's really scary is that it's possible to do in print.

Re: the magnificent work that Jerry Korb did on the Pinderton (#134), he
took care of the major touring dings in the side veneer and a couple of the
bottom pieces (see Ken Leonard's website for pics), but retained the patina of
the original cabinet. It's still very much a Pindertron (and I still have
Mike's original tapes). Value? Who knows?

Well I'm certainly willing to offer a thousand bucks for it.

It was Pope Gregory the Ninth.

OK. I have no idea.

Very high, I'd say.

Well, I played the 'Starless' Tron at the 'Night Watch' playback and
liked the fact that it looked like it had been savaged by a pack of
pissed-off wolfhounds, so maybe one way of doing it is to leave the
cabinet as it is. The rest of the instrument would have to be overhauled
unless you are wanting something that doesn't make a decent sound.

As little restoration as possible. My particular example (ex-Barclay James
Harvest) still sports all it's battle scars but internally has been sorted by
Martin and John. Result, best Mellotron I've ever played - value priceless (to
 me)
