OT: Hohner Cembalet
2006-06-02 by dscr22
I just bought a Hohner Cembalet I on eBay. You can see it in "completed items" still I imagine. This seems like an incredibly rare model - the Cembalet is the precursor to the Pianet but most references on the Net are to the "N" model, I don't see anything that looks like the one I bought. In fact the only reference to a "Cembalet I" on the whole internet has a question mark after it! http://www.alphabeck.co.uk/hoep/epianos2.html Further, there are a number of schematics online for Pianets and Clavinets but none that show a tube preamp as this one has. It must be VERY early production. Seems to have lived the bulk of its life as it was originally intended - as a home instrument in Germany. Unfortunately, it sustained some shipping damage which has me pretty heavily bummed out. Any electric piano experts in Chicago? Beyond that question... I don't know if this is remotely interesting to anyone on this list, but just who else do you tell when you buy something like this - the guys in your Fantasy Football league? (no, I don't play fantasy football - just using that as an example).
