Bridechamber Thomas White sequencer panel?

Bridechamber Thomas White sequencer panel?

2008-03-29 by andrewlistmayer

Hey Scott, I was just wondering if you ever considered doing a run of
panels for Thomas White`s rotary MFOS step sequencer? I decided to
make this question public in case anyone else wants to chime in and
cajole you a bit ;) Judging by the prices of your slightly oversize
panels(and even ignoring the astonishingly inexpensive CGS event
sequencer panel) maybe you could do it for around $60 give or take?
That would be a great deal cheaper than Schaeffer(whose prices are
outrageous IMO)Thanks.

I would love to see this panel.

I'm game.

Would Thomas mind if I stole his X/ Y's ?
: )

I must say, I do appreciate how much thought and work goes into the
panels that I shamelessly exploit.
Thanks to Thomas, David, Bill and Will, Richard, Gino, Mr.Mike. Who am
I forgetting?

And I agree, FPE/ Schaeffer is way too expensive for that paintjob. It
didn't use to be so expensive.

Re: Bridechamber Thomas White sequencer panel?

I have no problem whatsoever with my panel being open source. That's
how it is anyway with the MFOS list. I would want one of course Scott ;)

I have received so many emails about it I have often thought of
getting a custom PCB designed that has pcb mounted pots and sitches to
eliminate the crazy amount of wiring. It would be like a sandwich
module with panel-pot/switch pcb-Rays didigtal/analog pcbs. It would
make building them in limited production runs much cheaper and I would
want a couple more for myself. No time or resources though.

Run with the panel design. Let me know how I can help out at all. The
panel file (fpd) is up on the MFOS yahoo group. Thanks guys,

Thomas

Thanks Thomas!
I'll get going on that, then.
Maybe this summer it will be done.

That is very cool of you Thomas. I just love that design. I can even see the MOTM purists
knucling under dor it. I see your concern about the wiring. MFOS in gereal has an issue
with rat's nest wiring overall.

My Evenfall minimodular had a sandwich board with pots facing the panel, it was a mess:
lining them up was a problem and then using better or different components became an
issue. Edge connectors with some sort of harnessor headers ala haible may be a better
solution. Then again once you get past musing I am sure I will be hugely impressed.

While Scott is at it, I have to thank this kind and very generous group of people. Every
concern or dumb idea I bring up gets addressed often privately and very honestly. A good
group of gentleman (and women).

best
