The curves you are using are for matte paper and use the matte black, not 
the photo black. If you are going to use glossy paper you need different 
curves which use the photo black.
The 1800 doesn't have a Light Black cartridge. Where are you getting Light 
Black?

Ok, I printed the ink pattern page - print using calibration mode on 8x10 
photo paper.  Ink 1 - Black is the fragile ink, but Ink 7 - Light Black is 
not.  How do I get QTR to use only Ink 7?  Do I have to pull out the matte 
black cartridge??
