Thanks Greg! I did get it! I created two simple curves that I can regulate with percentages for warmer or cooler whites. I think I'm all set for now! I don't have a desitometer or spectrophotometer, but I copied the curves delivered for my printer and just changed the ink that it draws from (photo black vs matte black). Very nice! There are some useful documents on the QuadtoneRIP download page that describe how to make a profile. Since you only have one black ink in your printer, you don't have to worry about ink partitioning (this is required on printers which have multiple "light black" inks). The only concepts you need to master are setting an ink limit (which you can estimate just by looking at calibration pattern printout), and linearization, which can be done with just a scanner, if you have one, though I have never done it that way. You can also use a densitometer or a spectrophotometer if you have (or have access to) one of those. > > There's plenty of people on this list who can help you with those, once you get to that point. > > Best of luck... > > --Greg > > > --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "CherylS" <cherylstephenson@> wrote: > > > > Ok, I think I have the matte black vs photo black thing figured out. The only curve selections that I have are "matte". Do I have to create my own? I hope not, I'm not sure I'm smart enough to do that...:( > > > > > > --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, "Hassan El-Zayyat" <halacam@> wrote: > > > > > > > > The curves you are using are for matte paper and use the matte black, not > > > > the photo black.
