ICC curve does not work

2012-03-01 by RodB

I am new to using QT Rip and making profiles. Following is what I did:

(iMac running Lion OS, Epson 1400 printer)

1) Created a txt file from the L values,

2) Dragged the txt file into the QT Rip "Create ICC" icon,

3) Installed the ICC profile in the Library/ColorSync/Profiles folder,

4) Opened Lightroom 3, Print Module,

5) Selected the Printer to "Quad1400-K6",

6) Changed the Layout window to "Quadtone Rip",

7) Set the Mode to "Quadtone Rip 16 bit",

8) In the Curve 1 window, selected the profile I made,

9) Selected "Print"

The printer "fires" and the output is a blank sheet of paper. I changed the Mode to "Quadtone Rip 8 bit" and printed a blank sheet of paper. I also tested the printer by selecting another profile that is not for the paper I use and the printer produced a print.

What am I doing wrong??

Thanks,

Rod
