Mikes right.. also if it's off a scanner it might be LAB .... just convert to to RGB and your good to go.

TIFF is really a family of file formats, rather than a single file
format, so its likely that your TIFFs contain something that QTR can't
handle. Firstly I think QTR needs RGB TIFFs (not CMY or CMYK), and
either 8 or 16 bits per channel. It may not like transparency or layers.
How are you creating your TIFFs, and with what options?
