Hello - I am getting this message in the print dialog box of QuadToneRip - Tiff format not supported - I am, of course, using Tiff files.. so, what gives? Thanks - Bernard [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

TIFF is really a family of file formats, rather than a single file format, so its likely that your TIFFs contain something that QTR can't handle. Firstly I think QTR needs RGB TIFFs (not CMY or CMYK), and either 8 or 16 bits per channel. It may not like transparency or layers. How are you creating your TIFFs, and with what options? Well I just started using VueScan with my Epson V700... that might be the culprit. I will have to take a closer look at what is happening there even though I am saving my file as a Tiff file. I will have to try with the epson scan and see if the problemis the same.. thought I already didi that but things can get real confusing in a hurry (~; also was experimenting with Lightroon at the same time. Too many variables? Will let you know. Thanks --- On Thu, 10/4/12, Mike Finley <mike.finley@...> wrote:

I've noticed the QTR Print Tool does not incorporate sidebar file data in TIFFs. If you use, for instance, Lightroom to modify the crop or anything else (Lightroom is a non-destructive app that documents edits in sidebar XMP files), you must export the modified file and use the exported file to print in QTR Print Tool. BTW, my files are in ProphotoRGB when I export them, so at least we know RGB TIFF files work in the Print Tool. I just scanned again with my normal presets.. Epson scan as a 16 bit Grayscale Tiff and get the same message. --- On Thu, 10/4/12, Mike Finley <mike.finley@...> wrote:

TIFF is really a family of file formats, rather than a single file

How are you creating your TIFFs, and with what options?

One of the likely TIFF issues is the compression. Only the LZW compression is supported -- not ZIP. This is usually an option when you save a tiff.
