Thanks Mr. Roy...  that seems to be it. Somehow  the save was changed to Jpeg..  not by me so I don't know how that got changed..  anyways, learned something new.

One of the likely TIFF issues is the compression. Only the LZW compression
is supported -- not ZIP. This is usually an option when you save a tiff.
