Ward, You're a life saver!
I followed your suggestions.  The first, the "Safe Mode" ploy, did not work.  But the second did.  I uninstalled something called "Antilogger SDK version 1.4.6.63" from Zemana Ltd..  which apparently didn't like the QTRgui.  Now QTRgui works.  Funny thing is, I never loaded this software and I notice on the internet that you have to pay for it and I certainly never did that.  Thanks again!

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
