I leave 1 inch or 2.5 cm borders top and bottom for the best images.

If I get around to making a new "1430" version of UT14, I'll be looking at
ways to improve those edges (and the entire image).

... be sure that you are printing unidirectional (set this in QTR) ...

Yes, uni-directional and 2880 -- use the top quality settings.

The machines are not perfect, but they can do an amazingly good job.
