Clay, I don't think the new version should be any different for the 2200. Are you using your own profiles or the canned profiles? Are you using any ICC printing profiles? One thing that catches my eye is that you say "2880 dpi" -- most of the builtin profiles are for 1440dpi not 2880dpi. 2880dpi puts out more ink than 1440dpi on the 2200. Check these parameters.
