QTR-Quadtone RIP

I can't seem to find anything the last few days.
One set of instructions says to use the curve creator. If there is one in the Mac installation, I can't find it.
Instructions also say I can convert qidf to quad. Can't find where or how, except the advice to use the curve creator that, near as I can tell, doesn't exist.
Can't just throw a qidf file into the printer installation folder. The installer doesn't like it. Tried duplicating a file that was already in the installation folder and substituting content. Installer didn't like that either.

Any help would be appreciated. If there is a definitive Mac doc on QTR somewhere, I'd really love to know about it.
