I tried David Kachel's suggestion of uninstalling everything QTR and restarting my computer with the shift key held down and then reinstalling the QTR software. This appeared to work fine since I could actually print with two of the curves in the 1400-CL folder. But I have been this far before. The problem comes when I try to install custom profiles, and the install command script still does not work. The relevant message I got in part from the script install attempt is: "Cannot find an Epson USB printer with the name 1400". (The printer was turned on and connected to the computer- wireless). I used Roy's method shown above for setting up the Quad1400 printer. Since I had installed my Epson 1430 as a Bonjour printer (wireless), it isn't surprising to me that the Quad1400 printer is wireless also and not a USB printer. So why is the script even looking for an Epson 1400 USB printer? I suppose I could reinstall the 1430 as a USB printer and then create an Epson 1400 USB printer but I really prefer to use the wireless mode. Also doing this is not consistent with Roy's instructions above. For the record, the curves I was attempting to install were some of Paul Roark's Claria BO profiles. I changed his files from .qidf to .txt extension and placed them in the 1400-CL profiles folder and used Install1400-Cl.command as the install script. I don't know what I am doing wrong or how to go from here. I feel frustrated but really want to get this solved and be able to use QTR. Thanks for any advice. Lynn Fleming
