Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Linearize digital negative with iOne and reference targets?

Is your command of the alternative process such that the results from a given input are repeatable?

know how to make QTR profiles for printing with inkjet printers using the QTR tools, and I have learned how to linearize the profiles using the iOne spectrophotometer and the 21 step gray targets using the Measuring software..

What I would like to do is use the iOne and the 21 step gray targets and linearize a profile for digital negatives with an alternative printing process, but I am having trouble putting my mind around the procedures. Would the following procedure work?

1. Print a negative of the 21 step grey targets with the QTR digital negative profile, with no curve or linearize numbers in the profile.
2. Use the negative to make a print with the alternative process.
3. Read densities of the print with the iOne and the Measuring software.
4. Apply the linearize numbers generated to the QTR digital negatiive profile.
